Please watch the short video below for a brief introduction to accessible parking within the Bath and North East Somerset Council area.
Blue Badges and Advisory Disabled Parking Bays
We offer a range of services and facilities to help improve access for individuals with mobility problems. There are two main services we offer specifically in relation to accessible parking. To assist people in parking closer to their homes we can install Advisory Disabled Persons Parking Bays and to help people park closer to their destination we can issue Blue Badges.
Please click on the links on the left-hand side of the page to find out more information about these services and how to apply.
Parking for Blue Badge Holders Within our Car Parks
Please see the Blue Badges page for further information on where you can park with your Blue Badge, including on-street parking.
We regularly assess our car parks and look at their accessibility for Blue Badge holders, both as drivers and passengers. In spring 2016 we carried out work at a number of our car parks to make them more accessible. These works included adding new disabled bays, widening and improving existing bays, lowering pavements and adding tactile paving.
Numbers of disabled bays within our main car parks:
|Bath Car Parks||Disabled Bays|
|Bath Sports & Leisure Centre||6|
|Lansdown Park and Ride||16|

The Disabled Parking Accreditation recognises off-street parking facilities which have acheived a high standard of accessibility for disabled people. The following car parks have acheived the accreditation: Newbridge Park & Ride (Bath), Fox and Hounds (Keynsham) and Ashton Way (Keynsham). We are working towards obtaining accreditation at more car parks within the county.
