The more active you are during pregnancy the more easily you will be able to avoid putting on too much weight, cope with labour, get back to your normal weight and fitness once you have had your baby and cope with being a busy mum with a baby and then toddler.
Group activity is also a great way to connect with others and build long-lasting friendships.
What services can I access?
During your booking in appointment with your midwife you will receive lots of information. You can then also apply for a Maternity Exemption Certificate which entitles you to free NHS prescriptions and more. This is also evidence to access discounted leisure memberships with local leisure providers GLL and Writhlington Leisure.

There may be a range of local activities taking place in your local area. Here is a list of some of the sessions available at local leisure centres.

Move in Maternity Circuit class at Odd Down Sports Ground - a fun, gentle circuit session for pregnant or new mums. New babies are welcome!

On-site cafe and toddler sessions are also available at Odd Down Sports Ground on Tuesdays 11am - 1pm and Fridays 10.30-am - 12.30pm.
12 weeks personalised fitness programme and access to gym, pool and classes for £20 per month also available.

Louise Wisemen is a Level 4 personal trainer, group exercise instructor and qualified pre/post-natal fitness instructor and offers a Post-Natal exercise class for mums and babies on Tuesdays 11am - 12pm. A place to be playful and creative with your child.
A session to be together using movement, music and contact.
Listen to one another, build confidence and a sense of independence and trust in each other and have space to talk with other mothers and share support.
We use music & movement, therapeutic dance, talking therapies, mindfulness, yoga and other creative approaches to wellbeing, and work in a flexible person-centred way.
