A 'permissive path' is a path where the landowner has granted permission allowing public use and these routes can provide a useful addition to the wider outdoor access network. Permission can be withdrawn and, by granting permission, the landowner is communicating a lack of intention to dedicate the route as a public right of way.

The permissive paths which the Authority are aware currently exist within Bath and North East Somerset are shown on the online mapping hereunder 'Show Map' select 'Highways' and then under 'Show Map Categories' tick the box next to 'Public Rights of Way'.
